Aprilia RS125: 34mm Carburetor Tuning & Conversion Guide
Upgrading from the stock 28mm to the 34mm Dell’Orto VHSB is the most effective way to gain mid-range and top-end power. This guide covers the essential components and "baseline" jetting:
Key Components:
Main Jet (155): Controls fuel flow at wide-open throttle (WOT).
Idle/Pilot Jet (36): Controls the fuel mixture at idle and small throttle openings.
Needle (K57): Set to the top notch for the baseline configuration.
Atomiser (DP 266): Works with the needle to meter fuel through the mid-range.
Float Height: Set at 14mm (though Dell’Orto suggests 11mm for racing).
The Conversion: You cannot use the standard 28mm intake manifold; you must install a larger 34mm inlet manifold. Fortunately, the standard RS125 airbox will still fit the larger carb mouth.
Adjustment: The angled screw toward the airbox is the Air Screw. Turning it out increases air (leaner), while turning it in decreases air (richer). The standard baseline is 1.5 turns out.
Pro-Tip: Use an ultrasonic cleaner for older carbs to clear the tiny internal passages that a manual scrub cannot reach.
8.main jet anti surge washer
air fuel is the angled screw towards the air box and is a air screw (not the one with the spring on that is the idle screw)
out =more air to fuel
in = less air to fuel
float height set at 14mm Dellorto suggest 11 mm
for better mid range power, and a better top end fit the 34mm carb.
check running conditions inside engine after every job you do like this , plug chop .
